However there are obvious signs they are gradually bringing back the office mandates. Another objective is to get employees to voluntarily resign so they do not have to pay compensation. 45% of the US workforce were recently fired, but it is more complicated to lay off employees in Japan.

This is now reaching the media and negative sentiment is spreading both internally and externally.

Advice to Management

As a start, get rid of workstyle asap before lasting damage is done. Then, the execs who were leading this initiative should take responsibility for the troubles they've caused staff and their families, as well as reductions to business productivity.
